Abstract: MRI-guided focused ultrasound is an emerging technology with exciting applications in CNS disorders. The presentation will cover the basics of the integrated MRI and focused ultrasound technologies, applications in transient blood brain barrier opening, stem cell homing and retention, as well as ablative functional neurosurgery in movement disorders, psychiatric diseases, neuropathic pain. The presentation will conclude with future opportunities and technical challenges.
