Abstract: Diffusion MRI has been recognized in probing microstructural characteristics of the tissue. High Angular Resolution Diffusion Imaging, among the Diffusion MRI techniques, is typically used to delineate the nervous tracts and their structural integrity. While HARDI is good for resolving white matter structure, long scan time and severe geometric distortion limit its applicability. The present work proposed an acceleration strategy exploiting a selfreference reconstruction scheme in combination with Compressed Sensing in purpose of improving scan efficiency and image quality. The results suggest that the fast imaging method has potential to accomplish a whole brain HARDI scan with good quality in around five minutes.
